| Key fob scam - Locksmith? Toronto.

I got a refurbuished OEM key from ebay for my Lexus IS350. The code on the new key fob matched with the original key I had.
I went to a locksmith to get this programmed and when I returned home, the original key was glitchy. The car was not sensing the key and it's lagging as well while opening the doors (works sometimes). When I opened the key fob and compared the chip code with the OEM key fob from ebay - looks like the original key's chip was replaced with aftermarket chip.
Was I scammed? How do I proceed?
I am going to the shop tomorrow, looking for any advice on this issue.
